For my children is a story of many migrant workers who live an invisible life in the heart of our bustling metropolises. An intensely personal journey into their hope, hardship, disappointment and dreams. The story questions our notion of development and progress.

A walk everyday…

I walk my way everyday to catch a bus to go work. This place is buzzing with traffic as it is the border between Delhi and Haryana. Many come from Haryana to go work in Delhi, so did I. To me this place has a lot of life within the chaos that one can see daily. Everyone seems to heading somewhere in the early hours of the day. I am one of them….

Much of literature on the phenomenology of sight – even that which is phenomenologically informed – concentrates on visual form or “hard – edge” objects. There is, however , a visual phenomenon that is not comfortable with that treatment, which is nonetheless quite important to phenomenology of art and, in particular, architecture: i.e, light. The aesthetics of light has a long history in which light is often considered in relation to other aesthetic qualities like proportion, form, linear movement, etc. A fundamental aesthetics of light – one in which light is treated relatively independently of its relationship with other qualities and as aesthetically worthwhile in its own right – is rare nowadays.
